BASIC PARTS OF SPEECH
Here are the four basic parts of speech that you need to know.
1. The noun is a person (Emily, my father), a place (Israel, the beach) or a thing / idea (shoes, vacation).

2. The verb tells the reader what the subject does, did or will do. It is usually an action.

3. We use adjectives to give more information about the nouns. They can also be colors, numbers or opinions.

4. We use adverbs to answer the question “how something is done”.

1. The girls are waiting in the restaurant.
2. Most babies cry when they are hungry.
